Celta Vigo stun Valencia with Aspas superb

Celta Vigo earned a first victory of the LaLiga Santander season with a 2-1 win over Valencia at Balaidos on Saturday night.

The hosts went into the break a goal in front thanks to Nolito's solo set-up and Iago Aspas' composed finish.

Javi Gracia's Valencia, though, returned for the second half with fresh impetus, finding an equaliser through Maxi Gomez shortly after the restart.

The game swung back in Celta's favour just before the hour mark when Aspas bent a free-kick over the wall and past the rooted Jaume Domenech.

The Galicians could've extended their lead further in the closing stages as Brais Mendez and Miguel Baeza struck the woodwork with a couple of late efforts.

For the time being, the win moves Celta up to second in the LaLiga Santander table, with Valencia missing the chance to go top of the table with a draw.
