Celta Vigo president Mourino slams Real Madrid and Barcelona for snubbing Dubai summit

Celta Vigo president Carlos Mourino has slammed Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Mourino has accused Real Madrid and Barcelona of not defending the interests of LaLiga, after both clubs announced that they will not attend the Extraordinary General Assembly in Dubai next week.

He barked: "Madrid and Barça see their interests, not those of LaLiga. We there are going to defend what we believe is best. It is always said that when such a large majority of teams support something, it is because we believe we are right.

The Celta supremo stated that his club cannot "compare" or "think" like the greats of Spanish football, whom he asked "don't make us think how they want us to think".

"Each one is in his role. If they do not want to go, they are within their rights, but those of us who are going have enough power will have enough power to approve the statutes that are being proposed."
