Celta Vigo clinch key point against Real Betis

Celta Vigo are edging closer towards survival after a 1-1 draw with Real Betis at Balaidos on Saturday.

The Galician side took the lead in the first half when Nolito caught Joel Robles unawares at his near post from a wide freekick.

Betis emerged as the stronger team in the second half and were awarded a penalty when Rafinha collided into Andres Guardado after the latter had shot wide.

However, after going over to review the incident on the pitchside monitor, referee Pablo Gonzalez Fuertes overruled himself and the penalty was chalked off.

Los Verdiblancos did eventually get the goal their play deserved when Zou Feddal brought the ball down from Sergio Canales' cross and fired past Ruben Blanco.

The draw means Celta move six points clear of the relegation zone, while Betis remain in 13th place in the LaLiga Santander table.
