Villarreal midfielder Santi Cazorla is adamant Mikel Arteta can be a success with Arsenal.

The pair played together at the Gunners and Cazorla is happy seeing his former teammate beginning to put victories together.

Speaking to BBC Sport, the Villarreal midfielder said: "Arteta deserves to the the boss.He was always a leader in the dressing room.

"It was the right decision to put him in as manager; it made sense and he has everything you need for the job.

"I hope he takes Arsenal up the table."

Cazorla was speaking before the Gunners' 1-0 win at Europa League opponents Olympiakos last night.
