Segundo Castillo wants to stay with Everton.
The Ecuador international midfielder told Everton's website: "I have to thank my team-mates for the role they played in helping me settle.
"It's hard when you come back into the side and it takes time for you to get back up to full speed.
"It's really important to have that support because gradually you build up your confidence and things start to go well, so I am really pleased. You can see out on the pitch when everyone is close in the dressing room."
The 26-year-old revealed that the team spirit at Everton is the best he's known.
"Even in training sessions, there is a good atmosphere as everyone works hard and works together and team spirit off the field ends up working its magic on the pitch," he explained.
"I have been lucky in my career both in Ecuador and Serbia with Red Star to have been involved with good sets of lads but it is special here.
"Clubs go through difficult patches through the season and it was tense in the dressing room at the start of the season.
"We were struggling for form a little bit; I'm not saying that is was anything bad but it took a while for things to knit together but once everything gelled and the lads were playing in their right position, it has been great and things have grown."
