Former Italy striker Antonio Cassano says the VAR controversy involving Juventus and Salernitana masked how poor the Bianconeri were on Sunday.

Juve were left furious after VAR denied a late winner for the 2-2 draw.

But Cassano said on social media: “The problem is that now everyone is talking about the VAR and what happened. The problem is that we have to evaluate the 95 minutes that Juve did very badly against Salernitana.

"Let me be clear: great respect for Salernitana, for the two goals they scored and for the point they took, but when Juve faces these opponents it is mandatory to do much more, especially if you play at home.

"Instead, now to defend (Max) Allegri we talk about the VAR and what happened. We no longer talk about the shameful match that Juve played."
