Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino says Manchester United need to lock down Marcus Rashford.

The young forward is in new contract talks with United.

"This match again showed that if United need to keep any of their players for the long term then that player is Marcus Rashford," Cascarino wrote in The Times.

“They should be prepared to put him among the top earners in the Premier League if that is what it takes to keep hold of him. His pace may not be quite as devastating as Kylian Mbappé's but he is not that far off.

“It feels as if he has been around forever but he is still only 21. Two areas where I feel he has improved are in his finishing, which has become much more clinical, and his work-rate.

“He did not score last night but he made a vital contribution with that brilliant cross for Paul Pogba's headed goal."
