Carrick hails Man Utd young pair Wilson, Keane

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick hailed their young goalscorers for victory over West Ham United U21s last night.

Carrick was full of praise for James Wilson and Will Keane, who scored the goals on a wet and blustery night at Rush Green.

"It was a good game," he explained. "They started really quickly and came out and pressed us. We played some really good stuff in the first half and should have been more goals up.

"We were quite comfortable but they scored from nothing and got back into it.

"In the second half, we dominated from the start really and got the goal. Keano deserved it as I thought he was terrific. He managed to get the winner so it was worth the trip. He [Wilson] is just a goal machine. He's like that in training and scores all the time.

"It's a great habit to have, something I wish I had! He's just a natural. It wasn't even a chance for his goal, he created a yard for himself and put it in the bottom corner. He probably feels he should have had another goal or two but both front boys deserved the goals because they were terrific."
