Jamie Carragher says today's clash with Manchester United will be proof of Liverpool's character.
Liverpool meet champions Manchester United at Anfield still reeling from their worst run of results in 22 years.
Carra said: "We know we're on a poor run, but it's only the 11 lads out on the pitch that can change it and it's up to us to sort it out. Rafa's been a big manager for a long time and I'm sure he's had this in his career. I've had it in my career at different times when it's not been going well.
"The reason the players are at Liverpool and the manager's at Liverpool is because we've come through these tough times.
"You don't have it rosy all the way through. You've got to fight to get to the top and we're here for a reason.
"It's because we're good at our jobs and because we've got the fight and character - and this is the time we're going to have to show it. You always have pressures at Liverpool to do well and win trophies.
"We haven't become a bad team overnight, but we've certainly missed players at vital times and it's affected confidence."
