Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher feels Raheem Sterling will damage his relationship with fans over his contract stand-off.
Sterling informed Reds manager Brendan Rodgers last week that he will refuse to even continue talks over a new deal until the current campaign ends.
In a message on social-network site KICCA, Carragher suggested Sterling has been nowhere near his best in recent weeks, and warned:
"We all like to maximise what we can earn in any industry but this standoff won't help his relationship with fans or his performances.
"The fans frustration though also comes from his contract situation, the longer it continues the more frustration there will be & it paints him & his advisors in a bad light."
