Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes that Sadio Mane is the best winger at the club since John Barnes.

The 27-year-old has stepped up another level this season, scoring 18 goals for the Reds.

He picked up his form right when Mohamed Salah was struggling to score goals a few weeks ago. And Carragher has compared Mane's impact to that of Liverpool legend Barnes.

"I think sometimes he goes under the radar. You talk about Salah and the goalkeeper (Allison) and the impact these players have had, he's (Mane) the best wide player Liverpool have had in 30 years," Carragher told Sky Sports.

"You have to go back to John Barnes since Liverpool have had a player like Mane.

"That's big because John Barnes is in my top five or six players to have ever played for Liverpool."
