Carney to leave Bunyodkor but not for A-League

David Carney is set to depart Bunyodkor but his agent has insisted that he is not yet ready to play in the A-League.

The 28-year old full-back is on the verge of exiting the Uzbek outfit with his representative Ante Ailovic saying that relationships had completely broken down.

"The relationship there isn't what it was when he first started with them," Ailovic told au.fourfourtwo.com.

"I'd rather he not stay there - I'd rather he move on. I think there must be some financial concerns (at the club), that's what I've been hearing from my people over there.

"But it's our decision. Bunyodkor will not be determining whether to terminate the contract it will be in our own hands - it's not up to them it's up to us."

And Ailovic added that the former Sydney FC, Sheffield United, FC Twente and Blackpool man is not keen on an A-League return at this stage.

"The A-League? I don't think so in the next couple of years yet," Ailovic added.

"Overseas is what we're focused on. The next couple of years guaranteed - after that it's a choice he'll have to make."

Bunyodkor are currently preparing for the semi-final first leg of the AFC Champions League against Adelaide United on Wednesday but Carney was not included in the squad.
