Carlos Sanchez has welcomed Carles Gil to Aston Villa.
Both players were playing in the Spanish Liga last season.
Sanchez told the Birmingham Mail: "Obviously it's never easy to come over to a new country. But I'm helping as much as I possibly can to make sure he feels at home.
"It's easy here because it's a really welcoming environment. All the staff and players are great and I have no doubts that he will settle really quickly.
"I think he's pleased to have me here as his buddy."
