Carlisle United boss John Ward is confident Gary Madine made the right decision sticking with the Cumbrians.

Madine scored his first senior goal for the club against Chester. The 17-year-old signed a three-year-deal with the club this summer after turning down the chance to join Newcastle United.

"It will be good for him and it's a little confidence booster," Ward said.
