Carlisle co-owner quits the Cumbrians

Carlisle co-owner David Allen has quit his role with the League One club. Allen leaves Brunton Park with immediate effect, citing "an irretrievable breakdown" in his relationship with his fellow owners.

As a result, Andrew Jenkins, John Nixon and Steven Pattison will share the ownership of the Cumbrians.

A club statement said they would like to thank Allen - also the club's chief executive - "for all his hard work".
