Cargill, Allsop headline seven Bournemouth players cut loose

Blair Cargill headlines six players who have been released by Bournemouth.

Cargill has been with the club since 2012, and the defender became the first ever academy graduate to play for the Cherries in the Premier League, coming off the bench against Manchester United at Old Trafford in March 2017.

Goalkeeper Ryan Allsop moved to the south coast in 2013 from Leyton Orient and made 27 appearances - with two of those coming in the top flight against Everton and Leicester City.

Under-21s players Ollie Harfield, Sam Matthews, Patrick O'Flaherty and Joe Quigley will also leave the club when their contracts expire.

Matthews and Quigley had been with the Cherries for more than ten years, while O'Flaherty and Harfield depart after five and three years respectively at Vitality Stadium.

"All six players have been through long periods with the club and have come through a lot," said AFC Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake.

"It is the right time in their career to progress and we have no doubt they will have long and prosperous careers in the game.

"We wish them all the best in their careers going forward."
