John Carew has concerns over his future at Aston Villa.

The Birmingham Mail says Carew is seeking pre-season talks with manager Martin O'Neill to clarify his Villa future.

The Norwegian targetman has just one year remaining on his current contract going into the new campaign.

And Carew's representatives plan to set up a meeting with O'Neill when the players resume training next month.

Both parties were content to put contract talks on hold until the summer to avoid distractions last season.

But if Villa and Carew fail to agree a new deal soon, the popular striker is likely to leave within the next 12 months.
