Cardiff City have seemingly won the race to sign Newcastle United striker Sammy Ameobi on a season-long loan.

Ameobi has been made available for loan by Newcastle this summer and Championship duo Cardiff and Wolverhampton Wanderers were involved in a battle to secure the services of the 23-year old.

It now looks like Cardiff have won the race to sign Ameobi after the striker's sister Titi posted a photo on Instagram confirming that he was on his way to the Welsh side. However, neither Newcastle nor Cardiff have officially confirmed the move as of yet.
