Cardiff City midfielder Mats Daehli is determined to match the success of former Manchester United teammate Adnan Januzaj.
Daehli said his friend remains an inspiration to him even if he did turn down the chance to link up with Januzaj again at United ahead of his move to Cardiff.
"Adnan arrived at United the week after me and we became friends and trained every day together," Daehli told the WalesOnline.
"I've not been in touch with him so much recently, but I met him when Cardiff played United recently which was good.
"He is a big role model for me in that he is young and he is performing for a big team. He is definitely someone I look up to.
"I am hoping there is more to come from me at Cardiff now, but you need to have the right focus and mentality.
"You must want to improve every day.
"Just like Adnan, you can see how he has improved this season and how brave he is on the pitch and that is something I want to do as well."
