Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock is convinced by the defensive quality of Sol Bamba.

Indeed, Warnock insists he'd take Bamba over Liverpool's defender Virgil van Dijk.

Last week, Warnock was asked about those comments once again and, rather than backtrack, he insisted Bamba is better than Van Dijk is defensive situations.

“I just think Sol's a very,very good defender. He's nowhere near like Van Dijk with the ball at his feet or calmness on the ball - (but) in a defensive situation I'd back Sol," Warnock claimed.

While Warnock may think Bamba is better than Van Dijk as a defender, the Cardiff player himself certainly doesn't think that.

“He got carried away. I wouldn't have said that. Definitely not," Bamba said.
