Cardiff City are working hard to secure a deal for Wales star Gareth Bale.

With their nation now qualified for the 2022 World Cup this winter, Bale is looking for a new team to stay fit.

The winger has left Real Madrid at the expiry of his contract.

According to BBC, Cardiff City chairman Mehmet Dalman has flown into the UK and will lead negotiations himself.

Bale is 32 and will want to keep playing to stay sharp ahead of the World Cup in November and December.

Cardiff hope Bale can help them fight for promotion in the Championship this season.
