Cardiff City chairman Mehmet Dalman has been key this week to diffusing the problems at the club this week.
The Daily Mail says Dalman has played a central role in restoring peace at the Cardiff City Stadium at a time when Malky Mackay's future at the club was in serious doubt.
Sources close to Mackay and significant figures at the club have confirmed Dalman was the Scot's main ally during a five-hour board meeting on Monday, offering reassurances over future recruitment processes in the wake of Iain Moody's shock dismissal.
Those words have since been followed by a written promise in the form of a board statement claiming the manager will have final say on all transfer dealings.
That promise, requested by Mackay and supported by Dalman, has gone some way to resolving the crisis in the short-term, though it remains to be seen how the 41-year-old will react to future interest from rival clubs.
