Nantes striker Emiliano Sala is a step closer to signing for Cardiff City.
Sala underwent a medical on Friday.
The 28-year-old Argentinian would become Cardiff's second signing in the January transfer window after Everton striker Oumar Niasse joined on loan until the end of the season earlier in the day.
But Cardiff are not expected to complete the deal until early next week, with some reports in France suggesting that Sala will make his final Nantes appearance at Angers on Sunday.
Cardiff manager Neil Warnock, speaking ahead of Saturday's Premier League game at Newcastle, said: “It (Sala fee) is around £15million, which is a lot.
“But when you look in the Championship that's what strikers cost.
“I like him, he's a hard worker. He's not going to knock the walls down straightaway, but we need strikers.
“That's going to be the difference at the end of the season, whether we can score enough goals."
