Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock says they must view their Premier League promotion with a long-term focus.
He points to Burnley as a prime example of going up, suffering relegation but then using the Premier League cash to build an infrastructure at the club to come back stronger.
Warnock told the Mirror: “We've laid foundations for the club moving forward — similar to what Burnley did in their first year even if they went down.
“Even at my old age, you've got to look to the future and that's why it's really exciting for the club. Even at Burnley, they went down, came up again and now they're much stronger.
“We don't want to go down, we'll try our best to stay up, but… We don't want to go back to being at all those horrible places again!"
