Cappa defends Messi after subdued Barcelona El Clasico

Former Real Madrid assistant coach Angel Cappa has defended the form of Barcelona captain Lionel Messi.

Messi was subdued for Sunday's defeat at Real Madrid.

But Cappa told Esports COPE that "Messi is well surrounded, they are all international players." He added that the Argentine star "can't be the magician in all games for 15 years."

The former Argentina coach spoke about the Clasico. He said "if (Messi) had been inspired he would have scored those two goals," and "he can't always be extraordinary". Madrid's win was "fair, given that Barcelona were completely disorientated in the second half."

He thinks that Quique Setien should be allowed time. "You have to give him time, he will look for the idea that best fits the players, that's why he picked Arturo Vidal."
