Former Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello feels Sergio Ramos and the club had run their course.
Ramos said farewell to Real Madrid on Thursday after 16 years.
The Italian coach, who was Ramos' boss at Real Madrid in the 2006/07 season, watched the now former captain break down in tears as he said goodbye to the club, with Capello heaping praise on the player.
"I watched Ramos' farewell [press conference]. I really liked the emotion he showed," Capello told Radio MARCA's T4 show.
"He has Madrid in his heart. He was an important player for me. He has improved a lot since the first time I coached him.
"Ramos has been very important for Madrid [but] when two people talk and they don't understand each other, they leave each other."
