Former Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello feels Manchester City paid for failing to sign a centre-forward after last night's Champions League semifinal defeat.

Capello feels Guardiola now faces a crossroads in his career.

He said, They were aiming for the Champions League. It is said of Guardiola that, having left Barcelona, he was no longer able to win it.

"He was faced with a team that never gives up. But also Guardiola has to think about something different: you can't always play without a major centre-forward.

"Ancelotti said he thought they were playing well on a defensive level, tonight they did it but they were also dangerous in attack: Vinicius was the worst on the field eating two goals.
