Joao Cancelo is backing Bayern Munich appointing Thomas Tuchel as new manager.

Former Chelsea boss Tuchel is set to succeed Julian Nagelsmann, who is being sacked by Bayern.

Cancelo, on-loan at Bayern from Chelsea, told Sky Deutschland: "I just found out.

"I know I won't find him when I return but I thank him. Tuchel? He made me lose a Champions League, I hope this year he will let me win it."

Tuchel guided Chelsea to a Champions League triumph against Manchester City.
