City recovered from a dreadful start to the campaign to claim a 13th placed finish in the Premier League table last season and the Potters could be left satisfied with their efforts throughout the past nine months.
Shaqiri believes that his side made good progress last season and has boldly claimed that the Potters will be capable of doing a 'Leicester City' by claiming the title with the help of a few new signings.
Shaqiri said: "We were up and down as a team this season. I came to Stoke to be a leader. Last season, we took a step forward, it was one of the best seasons in the club's history. Now we want to attack again in the summer.
"I assume the responsible people are looking at every position to see how they can help the team. We must strengthen ourselves. Other clubs will also be doing it. And if some additions succeed, we can fully attack – and we know the example of Leicester City, which shows anything is possible. Can Stoke do a Leicester? Yes, I think this is possible."
