Arsenal legend Sol Campbell is among the candidates for the QPR manager's job.
The Championship club announced last month that Mark Warburton would be leaving the club at the end of the season, and they are now looking for his successor.
Campbell is believed to be the favourite for the role, and is due to be interviewed shortly, reports talkSPORT.
The former Macclesfield Town and Southend United manager faces competition from former team-mate Tim Sherwood, who has coached in the top flight at Tottenham and Aston Villa.
The west London club have already spoken to MK Dons boss Liam Manning and Newport County's James Rowberry as well.
However, it is understood that Campbell has the edge over the other contenders, as things stand.
