Cambridge midfielder Chadwick happy making Man Utd return

Cambridge United midfielder Luke Chadwick is happy to be returning to Old Trafford for their FA Cup replay against former club Manchester United.

The 34-year-old came off the bench at the Abbey Stadium and says he'll be thrilled to return to his boyhood club.

"It will be great to go back to Old Trafford," Chadwick told MUTV. "It's a wonderful football stadium and obviously it's where I started playing football as a young child - it'll be great to go up there again."

On the game, he said: "We worked hard in the first half and made some good chances. We put some good set-pieces into the box and had a half-chance of scoring. I kept asking the referee how long was left, but we held on in the end and it was a great night.

"It was fantastic to see the place [Abbey Stadium] like that, like the old days - it was an incredible atmosphere and an incredible result for the club."

Despite the financial rewards of a replay at the Theatre of Dreams, Chadwick recognises that the opportunity to play at such an iconic stadium is just as important to his team-mates.

"Without a doubt the replay is going to help the club," he said. "But it's also great for the players to go up there and experience a wonderful, wonderful stadium like Old Trafford."
