Former Real Madrid coach Jose Antonio Camacho says captain Sergio Ramos deserves a new contract.

Los Blancos only tend to hand one-year extensions to older players and there is yet to be news of a renewal for Ramos, whose deal is up in 2021.

"Sergio Ramos is unique in the world of football," Camacho told Radio MARCA.

"I'd renew [his contract] for life."

Camacho, a former Real Madrid left-back himself, also touched on Ferland Mendy.

"He's been a great signing for Real Madrid, although they still have Marcelo," the Spaniard said.

"He's going to have to wait a bit, but he's a player with a big future and he'll be an important member of the Real Madrid squad."
