Everton have secured a confidence boosting win over Sheffield Wednesday in the Carabao Cup third-round on Tuesday.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored twice as the Toffees won 2-0 at Hillsborough.

The victory came after a disappointing home loss to Sheffield United over the weekend.

Speaking after the game, manager Marco Silva said: "It was important to see Dominic Calvert-Lewin score twice in the game - we deserved to win, it was clear for me. We controlled the game.

"I would have liked to see us create more chances in the second half but that is something for us to work on."
