Califf, Fraser frustrated with Chivas USA's poor run

Chivas USA's captain and head coach are clearly unhappy with the recent form of the team.

The Goats have not won in five matches and during that run have conceded a whopping 18 goals and scored just 6 to fall to seventh on the Western Conference table.

The weekend's 4-0 defeat at San Jose Earthquakes was another poor showing from Chivas and skipper Danny Califf almost feels like it is the last straw.

"I'm running out of things to say," the centre-half said.

"I'm running out of ways to explain how we're giving up four [expletive] goals on a regular basis.

"Because we're throwing a lot of numbers forward, we're getting exposed in the back.

"When you don't convert chances, you're going to get a lot of scores like this, where it goes from bad to worse in a hurry. It's very frustrating to be a defender in that position."

And heads coach Robin Fraser was also critical of his side, saying that the defensive part of Chivas' play has to dramatically improve.

"We simply have to be better in the back," Fraser said. "It's frustrating. The defending is what kept us in the hunt at the start of the year, and the last couple of games the defending just hasn't been as good as it needs to be."
