Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini was tightlipped on the sacking of Zdenek Zeman yesterday.

Giulini introduced Gianfranco Zola as new coach, but was asked about Zeman's demise.

"It was the result of a series of situations, I'm never going to say the exact reason.

"The defeat against Fiorentina was decisive, from that point onwards the team started declining.

"But I have great admiration for Zeman. Still, the team required new stimuli."
