Cagliari president Tommaso Giulini insists Nicolo Barella could yet stay next season.

Barella has been linked with the likes of Chelsea and Juventus.

But Giulini said: "This is my first season at Cagliari that we'll end with our budget in the red.

“Someone will have to leave, but it doesn't necessarily mean that Barella will, even if it's not right for us to hold on to him if he wanted to leave.

“We've had three players called up by Italy. For me, it was an immense satisfaction."
