Cagliari goalkeeper Federico Marchetti is edging closer to a move to Lazio.

The player's agent has already met with Lazio chief Claudio Lotito.

"There will be more talks with Lotito," Giuseppe Bozzo said. "The player is highly rated by both Lazio and Roma.

"But the key thing for him is that he needs a regular starting shirt because he wants to return to the international set-up.

"There is a clause in his Cagliari contract which would allow him to leave if a bid of €5.2m is made by a club.

"Two or three sides are after him and Lazio have shown a certain amount of interest."
