Jonathan Cafu has spoken of former Bordeaux teammate Malcom's controversial move to Barcelona.

Barca hijacked Malcom's switch to AS Roma, much to the anger of the Italians.

Cafu recalled to Bleacher Report: "In the morning we practiced in the weight room and he told me that his transfer was almost complete. After our meeting, he invited my wife and me to his home for a last meal.

"Once back home, I was quietly sitting on the couch when my wife told me that he had been sold to AS Roma so I rushed over to congratulate him. We then headed for the airport where a private jet was waiting for him and his agent.

"When we arrived, we waited for his agent, for more than an hour and a half but no news. He then called Malcom by phone and told him that he should go home. I did not understand but he told me that: 'Barcelona has shown an interest for me'.

"I asked him if he was serious and he confirmed it to me."
