Borussia Dortmund chief Michael Zorc admits they'd like to keep hold of Achraf Hakimi.
On-loan from Real Madrid, the fullback is expected to return to the Spanish giants at the end of the season.
But Zorc told Ruhr Nachrichten: "I always like to stick to the facts.
"According to the contract, he will return to Real Madrid this summer because his affiliation contract will take effect on July 1. We are in contact with him and Real.
"Of course, we would like to see him with us longer, it's clear too. But we cannot influence it alone. I think Achraf knows very well what development he has experienced with us. He has developed well here, not elsewhere.
"According to his own statement, he also feels very comfortable. Everything else will become clear in the spring."
