Borussia Dortmund chief exec Carsten Cramer says Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp would be capable of reaching the top in German politics if he entered the fray.

Cramer worked alongside Klopp at Dortmund, where he once more spent seven years as manager before leaving in 2015.

"A lot of the characteristics of our club is the intensity and the emotion and the authenticity and Jurgen Klopp is just himself," he says.

"He is so authentic. His awesome ability was he was able to talk to the people after a loss.

"I remember his speech to the people in London after [2013] Champions League final. He was really able to give hope to the people at the moment when they were really, really disappointed.

"He didn't differentiate between the hierarchy or status. His best attitude is just to be himself, be Jurgen Klopp and Jurgen Klopp is able to attract the people.

"I would say he would even be the best solution for the people in politics. He could maybe be German Chancellor. I guess Jurgen Klopp could do it."
