Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland has claimed that he is ready to fill the shoes of his senior counterpart Asmir Begovic if the Bosnian decides to leave the Britannia Stadium.
Begovic has constantly been linked with a move away from the club and manager Mark Hughes's decision to start Butland in last three games has only added fuel to the fire.
After the goalless draw against Burnley, the England U21 international was asked if he was ready to step in if Begovic did happen to depart for the likes of Manchester United or Liverpool.
"Without a doubt," he said.
"I'm playing for my future. His (Begovic's) is out of my hands.
"I want the best for him but I'm doing everything I can do to show I can play in the Premier League and hopefully that's with Stoke."
