Jack Butland is Chelsea's top transfer target if Thibaut Courtois leaves the club.
The Belgian, who is out of contract at the end of this season, wants out of Stamford Bridge sooner rather than later. On Sunday, Courtois' agent declared Real Madrid as his preferred destination in order for him to be reunited with his two young children, who are currently living in the Spanish capital.
However, Chelsea remain reluctant letting Courtois leave without finding a suitable replacement. And Sky Sports claims Butland is their man.
The 25-year-old started for Stoke City in their opening day loss to Leeds United in the Championship on Sunday.
Chelsea are believed to have made initial contact with Potters, who want nothing less than £30m for their talented shot-stopper.
