Bury FC have been left in limbo after they were denied entry into the North West Counties Football League.
The historic club were ejected from the EFL for financial troubles in 2019.
They have since been bought by Bury FC Supporters' Society, while the plan is to have games at their old Gigg Lane stadium.
“They have not met our criteria," NWCFL vice-chairman Geoff Wilkinson told The Sun.
Bury FC believe they have all the necessary investment to be sustainable in the long-term.
The plan is to slowly build back the club and get into the Football League.
