Burton convinced about talent within West Brom academy

West Bromwich Albion chief Terry Burton is convinced about the quality coming through their academy.

The recently-appointed technical director believes Albion have a core of players capable of breaking into Albion's first team over the coming year or so.

Those include Adil Nabi, his brother Samir, Aaron Birch, Bradley Garmston and Joe Ward.

Liam O'Neil, Donervorn Daniels and Kemar Roofe have already been included in first-team squads.

Burton told the Birmingham Mail: "Youngsters get influenced by other things, but if they look at this club and know there's a pathway where people at the top value young players and value opportunity then they should want to stay here.

"They shouldn't want to go to one of the other lot who have 40-odd young players in their development and where none of them will ever play.

"Why would they go there? Obviously for other reasons and that's life, but you'd like to think they'll stay here because of the development pathway will be there.

"We have some fantastic people working in the academy already but we also have some people working at the top who want to develop young players."
