Burnley won't receive windfall from Man Utd target Trippier leaving Atletico Madrid

Manchester United are being linked with a move for Atletico Madrid star Kieran Trippier.

The former Tottenham right back has been excellent for Diego Simeone's team this season.

But he only signed a three year deal when going to Atletico, and one year would remain next summer.

Per The Telegraph, United could sign him for a modest fee.

The source also claims there is no sell on clause in the deal that took Trippier to Spurs from Burnley many years ago.

It means Burnley have no opportunity to get a windfall if he does transfer clubs again.

Trippier started his career at Manchester City, spent time on loan at Barnsley, went to Burnley in 2012, Spurs in 2015 and Atletico in 2019.
