Everton are locked in talks to sign Burnley winger Maxwel Cornet.
But! says Everton are in 'pole position' to sign Cornet, who impressed when arriving in the Premier League from Ligue 1 side Lyon last season.
Newly-promoted Fulham made a move for the Burnley star, but they were of no interest to Cornet. An agreement on a five-year contract at Goodison Park has 'already been agreed' according to the report.
Negotiations with Cornet have been said to be without any complications as the player is more than happy to move to Everton, but talks with Burnley are said to be more troublesome.
Everton matched the released clause of £17.6 million in Cornet's contract, but it wasn't all in one payment - like Burnley wanted. The offer was rejected by Vincent Kompany's side.
