Burnley are unlikely to recall record signing Ben Gibson despite their defensive crisis.
Sean Dyche only has James Tarkowski and Kevin Long as recognised centre-backs after Ben Mee was injured during Sunday's draw with Sheffield United.
Gibson had been training with former club Middlesbrough, but that arrangement has come to an end.
The Daily Mail says Burnley are not willing to allow Gibson back into the fold despite their injury problems.
The 27-year-old has managed just one league appearance for the Clarets since a £15million move from Middlesbrough two years ago.
