Burnley have thanked Marvin Sordell following his exit from the club.

Sordell's contract at Burnley was cancelled by mutual consent on Tuesday night and following the departure of the striker, the club released the following statement as an appreciation for his contribution.

The statement read: "Burnley Football Club would like to thank Marvin for his efforts and wish him well for the future."

24-year-old striker Sordell joined Burnley from Bolton last summer and scored just one goals in 21 appearances for the Clarets.
