Burnley striker Wood left with mixed emotions after Man Utd draw

Burnley striker Chris Wood was left with mixed emotions after their 2-2 draw at Manchester United.

Wood scored on the night at Old Trafford.

“It's probably bitter-sweet," admitted the Clarets' striker.

“We would have taken a point before the game, especially coming here with the run that they're on, the form they're in and the great team that they are.

“Being 2-0 up with eight minutes to play we probably needed to do better in seeing it out, but we are going to take the positives and it's a great place to come and get a point.

“They are a good side who are always going to create chances.

“We did everything we could to nullify them. It was tough and they kept piling on the pressure and, unfortunately, we weren't able to see it over the line.

“But you have to take the positives. It's another point on the road against a strong team and we've got to keep building.

“If we come here 90 per cent of the time and go 2-2, I think a lot of people will be happy.

“It was a chance to get that win and move further up the table, but we did everything we were meant to do as a game plan and you never know, next year we'll come back next year and hopefully do it."
