Burnley striker Wood hoping for Euro success

Burnley striker Chris Wood wants to add to his European goal tally for Burnley this season.

With the club anticipating a Europa League campaign in the coming season, Wood is one of the only players at the club that has experience in the competition.

He scored two goals in the tournament in the past for Birmingham City when he was 19. Now he wants to add to his two goals with Burnley.

Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph, Wood said: "I scored a couple in Europe, which was nice, and hopefully there'll be a lot more to come.

"We got to the group stages and we did quite well in the group stages, which is nice. It's a different feel to it, a lot more travelling, but it's good fun and I'm sure the fans will enjoy themselves.

"For us players it's just another game in a different location. We just treat it as another game.

"We want the fans to go and enjoy themselves and have loads of trips away around Europe, that would be fantastic.

"But we'll go there and be professional and do the job."
